Background

DC Studios was originally formed in 1999 by Mark Greenshields that was originally located in Glasgow after leaving Steel Monkeys. The company expanded with a second outfit in Montreal. The company bought out its rights of State of Emergency 2. The game underperformed and DC Studios ceased on June 4, 2006, with all operations moved to Firebrand Games, and the Montreal office remained open, eventually shutting down for Firebrand Games on September 25, 2007.



1st Logo (February 2000)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a picture of an arcade joystick. Behind it, there is the text "DIGITAL CREATIONS STUDIOS" in 3D, with a metallic outline.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: The opening theme of the game.

Availability: Can be seen on the unreleased Game Boy Color prototype for Re-Volt.

2nd Logo (November 9, 2000-June 5, 2001)

Visuals: On a black background, there are two blue oval lines behind the blue eggs with the name "dc" and "studios" on the right side.

Variants:

  • On Army Men Advance, the logo is on a white background, but the company website address is seen underneath.
  • On NBA Jam 2001, there is "developed by" on the top-left.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Mia Hamm Soccer 64, It also appears on NBA Jam 2001 and Army Men Advance.

3rd Logo (January 18, 2002-2004)

Visuals: On a blue background, the stylized word "DC" is on top while "studios" is seen below.

Variants:

  • On Salt Lake 2002 for Game Boy Advance, the text "Developed by" is seen on top.
  • A version with the website company name exists.
  • On Bratz for PlayStation, the logo is placed on purple background.
  • On Taxi 2, the background is more blue and the logo has a white drop shadow.
  • A white background version exists.

Audio: None.

Audio Variants: On Cartoon Network Speedway, it's have opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on Salt Lake 2002, NBA Jam 2002, Bratz, Taxi 2, Jim Henson's Bear in the Big Blue House, Le Tour de France: 1903-2003 - Centenary Edition, Cartoon Network Speedway and XS Moto.

4th Logo (2004-2007)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a symbol consisting of a blue ring connected with a "V" and placed behind an orange circle. The text "DCStudios" in a similar style as before, is placed on the right side.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, it shares the screen with other logos.
  • Sometimes, the text is behind the symbol.
  • Sometimes, the background is blue and the text is white.
  • A 3D version exists.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on later DC Studios games from the period, namely Fear Factor: Unleashed, Rayman DS, State of Emergency 2, Hannah Montana and Winx Club.
