Background

Bad Wolf is a production company founded in 2015 by Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter after leaving BBC Worldwide. The company's name is a reference to the Doctor Who episode "Bad Wolf", in turn named after a reoccurring message throughout the universe that Rose Tyler set up for the Doctor to find. Sky, HBO, and Access Entertainment previously had a minority stake in the company before Sony Pictures Television fully acquired the company on October 23, 2021.
