Background

Barna-Alper Productions was founded in 1980 and headed by Laszlo Barna and Laura Alper. The company was acquired by E1 (now eOne) and in folded into the new entity "E1 Television (later Entertainment One Television, now Lionsgate Television)" in January 2009, along with Blueprint, Oasis International, and Rubber Duck.

1st Logo (October 22, 1996-June 14, 2008)

Visuals: On a blue flag background, there is a white-blue arc made of a filmstrip. Under it, there is the name in a silver 3D font:

Variants:

  • There's a zoomed 16:9 version used on later productions.
  • There's also a long version, where the filmstrip raises up and curves into the arc, while the letters flip and shrink together.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None or the ending the of the show.

Availability: It was seen on Mother Trucker: The Diana Kilmury Story, Da Vinci's Inquest, and Blue Murder. It was last seen on the TV movie The Quality of Life.

2nd Logo (September 5, 2007-2009)

Visuals: On a dark background with an aquamarine glow, "BARNA-AlpER" in silver zooms out as the blue filmstrip is seen above it. The filmstrip rotates and then bends down, shining. "PRODUCTIONS" fades in below.

Variant: There's a still version on a black background.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: It was found on later shows produced by the company before its acquisition, such as season 2 of Da Kink in My Hair.
