Background
Grindhouse Releasing is a film distribution company co-founded by Sage Stallone, son of actor Sylvester Stallone (who founded White Eagle Enterprises and Balboa Productions), in 1996. They specialize in distributing old exploitation films from the 1960s and 1970s.
Logo (1996-)
Visuals: Same as the bumpers as used at drive-in theaters by various companies in the 1960s and 1970s, but the text reads "GRINDHOUSE RELEASING", and the background turns yellow, orange and blue (via hue-shifting) after merging, before reverting normal as "GRINDHOUSE RELEASING" split back to eight copies and disperse away. Then, two copies of "presents" come in from the left and right sides of the screen very quickly and merge in the center.
Technique: Camera-controlled animation.
Audio: Keith Mansfield's "Funky Fanfare," as used in the original grindhouse snipes.
Availability: Seen on films distributed by the company, such as Make Them Die Slowly (Cannibal Ferox), Pieces, Cannibal Holocaust, and The Tough Ones.
