Background

Miramax Television is the television division of Miramax Films, founded in 1987. It did not use a proper on-screen logo until 1999, as before said year, it used generic in-credit text reading "MIRAMAX TELEVISION".

Logo (October 7, 1999-August 25, 2011)

Visuals: Basically a videotaped and sped-up version of the then-new movie logo, with "TELEVISION" replacing "FILMS".

Variants:

  • On Wasteland, the URL "www.wastelandtheshow.com" appears below.
  • In 2004 on FX, on a promotion show for the movie Hero, the logo simply zooms in.
  • 2005-2011: On Seasons 2 through 9 of Project Runway, this logo is still and seen under the Weinstein Television logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The closing theme of the show or none.

Availability: Appeared on Wasteland, Project Runway and earlier episodes of Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee. The Hero variation appeared on the trailer for A Wrinkle in Time (found on the Spy Kids 2001 VHS/DVD), but by the time it debuted, the Dimension Television logo appeared instead. It's also seen on the English dub of Tokyo Pig. It first appeared on the featurette Making Life Beautiful, which can be seen on the 1999 VHS of Life is Beautiful.

Final Note

After the retirement of the 1999 logo, TV shows either used shortened or still versions of the 2008, 2018, or 2023 Miramax Films logos with no television indicator.
