Random House Films

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Logo (September 13, 2007-December 7, 2012)

Visuals: On a close-up wall surface, a square of black paint appears. The screen zooms to the right to reveal the same surface, which also gets painted black. We keep on zooming and seeing the surface being painted until the screen zooms out further to see "RANDOM HOUSE FILMS" is being painted. The screen zooms out, revealing the company name splotched between two moving filmstrips. The wall surface disappears, and two more houses and a roof appear. The film strips, the text and the roof all create an abstract house, much like in the Random House logo.

Technique: CGI by Hush.

Audio: The sound of paint splattering along with some page-turning sounds accompanied with a mysterious mellow tune and film reel sound effects. Otherwise, the opening theme of the film.

Availability: Seen on Reservation Road, One Day and Lay the Favorite.
