Background

Tandem Productions (formerly known as Tandem Communications) is a German production company which produces miniseries and television series such as "Labyrinth". It was founded in 1999 by producers Rola Bauer and Tim Halkin. In January 2012 the French production company StudioCanal acquired a majority stake in the company and in May 2020 they fully acquired 100% of the company.

1st Logo (May 20, 2004-2014)


Visuals: On a dark blue background a wave is moving until it transforms into the letters T in blue and C in lighter blue. A goldfish pops out then it reveal the words "TANDEM COMMUNICATIONS" in Bank Gothic font then the goldfish leaves.

Variants:

  • On The Company this logo is shared with the Alchemy logo.
  • On Impact the logo starts with the wave transforming into letters.
  • There is a version where the "TC" flashes and the same words fades in below.
  • Starting in 2012, the byline "A STUDIOCANAL COMPANY" was seen in the same font as the logo above.
  • A still version of the logo was seen on Apokalypse Eis and Crossing Lines.
  • There is also an in-credit version.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A waving sound followed by bubble sounds. In other cases, the ending theme of the show is used.

Availability: It was seen on miniseries such as Impact and The Pillars of the Earth. The StudioCanal byline version was last seen on Labyrinth, Crossing Lines, World Without End and Pirate's Message. It also appears at the start of movies that they produced like Apokalypse Eis and Lost City Raiders. This logo was also appeared at the beginning of Painkiller Jane, Beyond Sherwood Forest and Merlin and the Book of Beasts along with the Starz Media logo.

2nd Logo (2015-)


Visuals: On a black background, there is a tridimensional letter "T" divided into three segments, each side is coloured in blue, white and grey. Next to it is the word "TANDEM" now in Futura font, under it the phrase "A STUDIOCANAL COMPANY" on its corporate font is seen below.

Variant: There's a version where the logo is set in a blue background then it opens up and zooming in. It was only seen on Take Two.

Technique: None. 2D animation for the animated version.

Audio: None or a whoosh-like sound.

Availability: It's currently seen on Spotless, Take Two and the latest episodes of Crossing Lines.
