Background

Buffalo Gal Pictures is a Canadian independent film and television production company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

1st Logo (1996-2005)

Visuals: On a black background, a pair of lips at an angle flies and settles onto a buffalo's face on a wooden square before they bounce briefly (like it wants to kiss someone). "BUFFALO" appears below, made up of red flashing outlines (resembling that of a neon sign), "GAL" underneath in the same color but completely colored in where the latter letter shines down and "PICTURES INC." at the bottom in white with a rectangular border in the former two word's color around it.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The ending theme.

Availability: Spotted on My Mother's Ghost, Epiphany Rules, Children of My Heart, Desire, The Law of Enclosures, The Notorious Mrs. Armstrong, Society's Child, Yellowknife, The Saddest Music in the World, and Seven Times Lucky. Was also seen on 2030 CE.

2nd Logo (March 24, 2006-)

Visuals: On a white background, "BUFFALO GAL" appears in brown with a red curved line that reaches from half of the first letter to metres away from the last letter leading to a short line pointing down. "pictures" appears below next to it. On the top right, an outline of a circle in the same color as the line appears with a brown bent line with two short lines with one at each end pointing up.

Variant: There is a variant where the logo is placed over a snow background, which moves slightly as the sun shines through. It's seen on made-for-TV movies.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on indie Canadian movies like Niagara Motel, My Heart Yearns in Vain, Reading: The Silent Killer, The Good Life, Something Beneath, The Boys Who Came to Play, Maneater, My Winnipeg, The Stone Angel, The Box Collector, among others, as well as shows like Less Than Kind, Cashing In, The Pinkertons, and Sunnyside.
