Background

Mark Burnett Productions was an entertainment company founded by reality television producer Mark Burnett (best known for Survivor, Shark Tank, The Voice, and The Celebrity Apprentice) in 2000. On April 26, 2011, Hearst acquired a 50% stake in the company and created a joint venture with Burnett to form "One Three Media".

Visuals: On a live action fiery background, there is a flaming torch swaying back and forth to reveal the yellow words "a MARK BURNETT production" styled in a Day 24 font.

Variants:

  • A short version exists.
  • Two in-credit versions exist.
    • One is in a white box and doesn't have "a", with "production" being pluralized. The text is also in red.
    • Another, used on CNBC airings of Shark Tank, is a still version of the logo, contained in a box and with the Sony logo next to it. This appears in the split-screen credits (the regular Mark Burnett/Sony Pictures Television logo combo appears before the credits).
  • The logo sometimes shares the screen with other logos.
  • Starting in 2008, the logo was enhanced for high-definition shows. Here, the logo has more realistic effects and overall higher quality.
  • On some international shows, "a" is missing and "production" is replaced by "international".

Technique: Live-action combined with computer effects.

Audio: The sound of fire, a generic theme on NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox, the closing theme of the show (followed by the fire sound on Shark Tank), or none.

Availability:

  • It was seen on seasons of Survivor (even after the company became One Three Media; the logo was retired when the company became United Artists Media Group), as well as the first three seasons of Shark Tank, the first season of The Voice and pre-2012 seasons of The Apprentice.
  • It was also seen on international versions of shows that Burnett created such as The Apprentice UK and The Contender Asia.
  • It is left intact on season 3 of Shark Tank (and most likely seasons 1 and 2 thereof) when rerun on CNBC.
