Background
Jeopardy Productions is a label for Merv Griffin Enterprises, the production company behind Jeopardy!.
Logo (September 10, 1984-September 1996)
Visuals: The visuals simply consist of the Jeopardy! bumper card from the time period, with copyright information below.
Variant: Starting with Season 11, the show has a page-flip transition to the copyright card, becoming the first card to show up after the credits (prior to season 11, it would appear before or, on earlier episodes, after the King World Productions logo).
Copyright Notices:
- September 10-December(?) 1984: "©1984 All Rights Reserved."
- December(?) 1984-1990: "©[YEAR] Jeopardy Productions, Inc."
- February(?) 1990-December 1991: "©[YEAR] Jeopardy Productions, Inc. All Rights Reserved"
- January 1992-September 1996: "(C)[YEAR] Jeopardy Productions, Inc. All Rights Reserved"
Technique: A still, digital graphic. However, in the 1985 tags, the Jeopardy! logo has a computer-generated shine effect.
Audio:
- For the first eight seasons, it was simply the Jeopardy! closing theme (alongside audience applause).
- Between Seasons 9-10, a drum roll would play over this card instead.
- Between season 11-12, the theme music played over the card once again, with Johnny Gilbert's spiel "Jeopardy! was created by Merv Griffin." sometimes carrying over to the copyright card.
Availability: This was seen at the end of all Jeopardy! episodes, from the beginning of the syndicated series until early in Season 13. This was also seen on the Super Jeopardy! primetime tournament in 1990.
Final Note
From Season 13 onward, the Jeopardy Productions copyright notice would be inserted at the end of the credits sequence.
