Background

MDP Worldwide was a production/film sales company started in 1993 by Mark Damon after his previous company, Vision P.D.G. International, folded. In 1998, the company was purchased by Behaviour Communications and renamed to "Behaviour Worldwide"; however, after that company folded, Damon bought the company back and reverted it to its original name.

In October 2003, MDP Worldwide was renamed to Media 8 Entertainment. A year later, Damon resigned from the company and afterwards founded a new studio, Foresight Unlimited, in January 2005. Streaming rights, if not all rights, to their catalog is held by Screen Media.

Logo (September 1, 1993-March 28, 2004)

Visuals: A golden oval globe wireframe zooms out while shining, as the blue letters "M", "D" (which covers the globe wireframe), and "P" fade in one by one. A yellow line draws below it, while the text "WORLDWIDE" fades below.

Variant: On some video releases of films produced by this company such as Inner Sanctum 2, "HOME VIDEO" appears in place of "WORLDWIDE".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Found on Blood for Blood (aka Midnight Man), Bad Blood (aka Viper), Inner Sanctum 2, and Shootfighter 2, among others. It is unknown if it appeared on foreign prints of The Jungle Book (1994), which they co-produced with Disney; it does not appear on the Australian VHS, though the print logo appears on the packaging. Makes an appearance on George and the Dragon in spite of the company rebranding to Media 8 by that point.
