Background

This is Robert Morton's vanity card.

Logo (October 21, 1997-July 15, 2013)

Visuals: There is a black and white drawing of a man on the hillside struggling to move the Earth, which is seen zooming out. As the screen zooms out, "P A N A M O R T T E L E V I S I O N" wipes in under the drawing and the man stops.

Trivia: This logo seems to be based on a combination of two figures in Greek Mythology: Sisyphus, a Tyrant condemned to pushing a stone up a hill for all eternity, and Atlas, a Titan condemned to hold up Earth for all eternity.

Variants:

  • Early on, there was a still version.
  • There is also an extended version.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: The ending theme of the show, or the sounds of the man grunting and some squeaking sounds.

Availability: It was seen on Over the Top, You Don't Know Jack, and Cheech & Chong's Roasted. It was also seen on some episodes of Lopez Tonight. Preserved on DVD releases of Mind of Mencia.
