Background

Lucasfilm Animation is the animation division of Lucasfilm Ltd., founded in 2003. However, no real logo was used until 2008.

1st Logo (August 15, 2008-March 8, 2014)

Visuals: On a white background, R2-D2 shines a light from his head towards the camera. The light flashes and R2 disappears. Then a yellow crescent shape with legs with a dot close to it appears. Below is "LUCASFILM ANIMATION" with the Lucasfilm byline in Century Gothic below.

Variants:

  • There is an extended version of this logo where R2-D2 comes in from the left of screen. It then turns and moves forward closer to the screen. R2's head turns around and shines his light at us. This was only seen on a few Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes, most notably the "Malevolence" arc of season 1.
  • There was another variation. It shows some Jawas pulling on a metallic object. When the camera pans up, they freak out, and then drop the object and run off into the distance.
  • On Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Jedi Alliance for Nintendo DS, the logo is placed on the starfield. The byline is replaced with "SINGAPORE".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Just R2 beeping. In the extended version we can also hear mechanical sounds when he moves as well as his additional beeps. On the Jawa variant, there is the usual sounds that Jawas make.

Availability: Seen on the first 6 seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

  • Also seen on the game with the same name for NDS.
  • The Jawa variant is seen only at the end of Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie.

2nd Logo (May 4, 2021-)

Visuals: Over a black background is the white text "LUCASFILM ANIMATION" organized the same way as before, but with no symbol or byline and the "O" in "ANIMATION" is replaced with the silhouette of a Clone Trooper helmet. Copyright information can be seen at the bottom.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The tail end of the closing theme for the show.

Availability: Seen at the end of episodes from Season 1 onwards of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
