ABC Productions was another television production company of Capital Cities/ABC (now ABC, Inc.) reincorporated in 1989 from ABC Circle Films, the TV division of the ABC Television Network.

1st Logo (March 3-April 7, 1990)

Visuals: On a black background, there's the ABC logo placed on the left, and with the outline cut in half. Below, there's the word "productions". Also, a copyright notice can be seen above the logo, while the byline "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" is placed underneath.

Variant: On the pilot episode, the logo is superimposed into the ending credits.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen only on H.E.L.P.

2nd Logo (May 2, 1991-2001)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a bright light with the word "productions" in the ABC "tube" font zooming out. The ABC logo, cut in half, rises from the light and shines brighter, zooming out with "productions" below.

Variants:

  • The logo can be filmed or videotaped.
  • On American Detective, the "in association with" text is seen below.
  • On America's Funniest Home Videos, there's an ABC copyright stamp "(C) [YEAR] American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. All Rights Reserved", which fades-in below in orange. From 1993 onwards, the text had a white shadow lettering.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio:

  • 1991-1995: An ethereal synth choir fanfare. It exists in long and short versions. A low tone version existed on the TV movie My Name is Kate.
  • 1991-2001: A cheerful synth piano tune with the last note ending on a cymbal. Like before, it exists in long and short versions.
  • Sometimes, the closing theme is played, or none.

Availability:

  • This can be found on My So-Called Life and The Commish (although the latter series is owned by the Cannell Studios and Shout! Factory).
  • It was also seen (albeit silent) on WGN America (now NewsNation)'s reruns of the Fugelsang/Fuentes era of America's Funniest Home Videos.
  • The syndication variant last appeared on the Bob Saget version of AFHV, which was last seen on Nick at Nite in 2007.
  • This also appeared after the Bob Myer Productions logo on the sitcoms Joe's Life and Me and the Boys.
  • Some TV movies from the time period reran on networks like Lifetime or LMN may keep this or plaster it with the 1997 or 2005 Buena Vista Television logos.
