Background

Will Packer Productions was founded and operated by Will Packer in 2013, just a year before the closure of Rainforest Films. In July 2013, Packer signed a two-year deal with Universal Television to develop new projects for the studio, followed by a three-year deal with its film division later that year.

In 2017, the company launched its Media division for branded content and digital in partnership with Discovery Communications and Universal Pictures. As part of the launch, the company acquired digital ad firm Narrative to serve as the new venture's branded content arm. The following year, the Media division acquired women's lifestyle site xoNecole.

1st Logo (June 20, 2014-)

Visuals: On a white background, a red paint streak that fades into black is drawing a fedora as the view pulls back. The company name fades in, with "WILL" and "PACKER" on both sides of the fedora, and "PRODUCTIONS" in a smaller font underneath.

Variants:

  • On Think Like a Man Too, when the logo is formed, it turns black and white, film-deteriorated, and into 4:3, and it cuts to the opening credits.
  • A still version exists on TV shows.
  • On the 2016 TV series adaptation of Uncle Buck, the logo shares the screen with the Unaccountable Freaks Productions logo.
  • On Ambitions and Bigger, the name is in a different font, the fedora is stylized with no feather, and the text below reads "MEDIA". The latter has the logo still and cropped in a rectangle.

Technique: 2D CGI.

Audio: The opening/closing theme of the movie/show, or silence.

Availability: It debuted on Think Like a Man Too and appears on No Good Deed, The Wedding Ringer, and other movies from the company. Also seen on TV series such as Truth Be Told, the 2016 TV series adaptation of Uncle Buck, and the final two seasons of Being Mary Jane. This doesn't appear on Ride Along 2.

2nd Logo (February 10, 2020-)

Visuals: On a black background, various brown lights are seen as the fedora from before, now in white, draws in. Then, a gold paint streak is drawn, and "WP" (Will Packer's initials) in white with a gold rim fades atop the gold paint streak.

Variants:

  • A short version exists.
  • Sometimes, the logo is still.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None.

Availability: It debuted on The Photograph and later appeared on Blackballed, That Girl Lay Lay, Beast, Praise This, and The Baxters.
