Logo (1988-1994)

Visuals: On a red and black gradient background, a blue grid is seen zooming out while rotating at a diagonal angle. As it zooms out, the grid shines and at a farther angle is the silver words "S E L E C T" sliding to the left on top of the grid while "M E D I A" is on the bottom sliding to the right, both in silver and spaced out to fit the width of the grid. A light then draws in a paint stroke "S" in red while it zooms out to places itself on the grid. As it finishes drawing, "COMMUNICATIONS" appears below as a line is drawn to separate the 2 words. The logo then shines all over.

Variant: There was also an almost still version, which only has the logo shining.

Technique: Analog computer animation.

Audio: The closing theme to the program. On some programs, there was a wind chime with orchestral hits at the end. The "S" was followed with a "SWOOSH".

Availability: The short version was seen on the game show Relatively Speaking. The long version was spotted on The Horror Hall of Fame series. It was also spotted on the short-lived sports magazine series InSport as well as Music Scoupe.
