Background

HBO Interactive Entertainment is the gaming division of Home Box Office (HBO).

1st Logo (November 7, 2006)

Visuals: The screen rapidly zooms out in a blue-orange tinted corridor, detailed with dark crates and a trail of the HBO logo's ghost. The zoom slows down, and the HBO logo is revealed as orange lights turn on in it, which then swirl around in the logo. Meanwhile, "INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT" is formed by dots of light clashing into each other. A spotlight is seen moving around the logo.

Trivia: This logo is based on the ident package HBO introduced in the United States at the time.

Variant: An alternate version exists, where the HBO logo zooms out much further compared to the "INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT" text, which simply fades in. This version was never used in the game, and was later uploaded to Greg Duncan's Vimeo account on June 28, 2013.

Technique: CGI by Greg Duncan and Bill Bergeron at VERB! Media.

Audio: The 1996 HBO Entertainment music with extra sound effects. The alternate version uses the original music.

Availability: Only seen on The Sopranos: Road to Respect for PS2.

2nd Logo (May 15, 2012)

Visuals: The HBO logo with "HOME BOX OFFICE" below the logo zooms in.

Technique: A simple zoom-in effect.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appeared on Game of Thrones for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
