Background

Talpa Media was a Dutch television production company founded in 2007 by Endemol co-founder John de Mol as part of his holding company of the same name (which originated in the launch of the Talpa TV channel in August 2005). In 2015, the company was acquired by ITV Studios (along with a minority stake in de Mol's Talpa Network). In October 2019, de Mol left Talpa Media to focus more on his other Talpa assets; subsequently, ITV Studios closed the company down and sold its stake in Talpa Network as part of an internal restructuring.

Logo (September 17, 2010-October 2019)

Visuals: On a black background, a shimmering silver ball zooms out and rotates down to reveal four balls arranged vertically. These balls then rotate to the right and zoom out more to reveal ten balls arranged similarly to a TV remote's buttons and the word "talpa" in a modern font below them. The balls then shine from bottom to top.

Variants:

  • A short version exists, starting at the second rotation.
  • On some versions of The Voice, the slogan "IT'S ALL ABOUT CONTENT!" flips in letter-by-letter below the logo.
  • On The Winner Is, the US version of Utopia and seasons 10-12 of The Voice, the logo (glossier than usual) is formed on a black marble background with "talpa" already in place. The balls appear from all directions, and shine with the text as usual.
  • On seasons 6-8 of The Voice UK and the UK version of its spin-off The Voice Kids, the logo is blue and appears above the ITV Studios Entertainment logo.

Technique: CGI by Peet Gelderblom.

Audio: A held out whoosh with a synth overlay and twinkles.

Audio Variant: On The Winner Is, Utopia and The Voice, a quick whoosh sound is heard, with an echoed clang when the logo shines.

Availability: Seen on The Voice, including The Voice Kids and The Voice Senior and The Winner Is worldwide.
