Background

This is a company founded by Paul Miller and Kimber Rickabaugh.

1st Logo (December 19, 1992-January 21, 2001)

Visuals: On a grainy light grey background with darkened corners, a beveled-out silhouette of a windmill tower is seen, only defined by the lighting around it, and the windmill's grey sails rotate clockwise throughout the entire thing. Below the logo, sandwiched between 2 beveled grey lines, is the text:

R i c k M i l l
P R O D U C T I O N S

The logo has a slightly old-timey feel to it.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: The sounds of the windmill creaking, which would later be updated to include wind blowing, as well as various shoreline noises. Sometimes, the closing theme of the special plays, or no sound at all.

Availability: Seen on the first 4 seasons of Comedy Central Presents and the special Dave Chappelle: Killing Them Softly. It also has been seen on a few ice skating specials, like The Wizard of Oz On Ice and Disney's Christmas Fantasy on Ice.

2nd Logo (June 25, 2001-March 25, 2011?)

Visuals: On a black background, the screen starts as yellow before it fades out to reveal a spinning windmill blade that zooms out, complete with motion blur. As it zooms out into place and slows down (but still keeps the motion blur), the silhouette of a different-looking windmill base appears as a grey shadow and 2 grey lines draw in below in opposite directions of each other. In-between them, the text

R i c k M i l l
P R O D U C T I O N S

wipes in and the "R i c k M i l l" text shines as the blades keep turning.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A loud whirling noise as the logo starts, then a sound that resembles sprinkling fairy dust.

Availability: Seen on Comedy Central Presents starting with season 5 and the HBO TV special Dennis Miller: All In.
