1st Logo (October 29, 2004-February 10, 2017)
This logo contains flashing images at 0:08. |
Visuals: On a black background, the words "twisted pictures" in the Impact font quickly fade in with green-ish barbed wire quickly twisting and maneuvering around the words with the ends of the wire curling around each other between the words. Then a stake quickly drops down through the curled ends of the wires, and rotates clockwise, twisting the ends of the wire around with it and tightening the barb wire around the words. Then the screen "flashes" and the wire covering the words quickly exit offscreen, leaving scratches on the words while the stake, covered with barbed wire twisting around it twists around counterclockwise, comes to the camera, and quickly comes to a stop. This all happens at a very fast pace.
Variant: Starting with Saw III, the logo is more saturated with the barbed wire being redder in color.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: The sounds of the barbed wire twisting around and snapping, with a thunderclap sound during the flash.
Availability: Seen on the first seven Saw films and other films by the company like Repo! The Genetic Opera.
2nd Logo (July 20, 2017- )
Visuals: Same as before, but this time, the words are more three-dimensional, the logo zooms out as the barbed wire wraps around the words, there is blood on the scratches from the barbed wire, and the stake is replaced with a rugged mounting spike. The screen doesn't flash in this logo.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Same as the previous logo, but without the thunderclap.
Availability: First seen on the trailer and Canadian release for Jigsaw. Also seen on Spiral: From the Book of Saw and Saw X.
