HBO Latin America Originals

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st Logo (2014-)

Visuals: As the screen flashes, the screen zooms out of an environment of neurons, located in between a wall of RGB pixels. We then see a close-up shot of a screen where a script is being typed out. The letters then pop up in different rotations as they disappear from the script. We then see a rough storyboard sketch of an action sequence (featuring a car smashing into a man). The scene later transitions into a realistic environment where the scene takes place inside a parking garage. As the camera zooms out, we later see that the scene is being supervised by a filming crew, complete with a boom mic, director and a camera operators. The scene then zooms out, along with numerous other frames of other HBO originals, forming the HBO logo. A slight reflection appears, and "LATIN AMERICA ORIGINALS" glitches in below the logo.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A dramatic orchestral piece, with a four-note leitmotif based on the 1982 HBO movie opening repeating throughout.

Availability: Used as an opening to HBO Latin America originals, such as Sr. Ávila.

2nd Logo (2014-2018?)

Visuals: There is the HBO logo, with text below reading "LATIN AMERICA ORIGINALS".

Variant: A later version introduced in 2015 has the logo with a slight gradient.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: The later variant was seen on Magnifica 70 and El hipnotizador.
