Background

Torand Productions was a television sub-division of Spelling Entertainment Inc., named after Aaron Spelling's two children: Tori and Randy. Today, it's an in-name-only sub-division of Spelling Television Inc. and an in-name-only unit of CBS Studios.

Logo (October 4, 1990-May 7, 1992)


Visuals: On a black background is the name "Torand" in a cursive font, with the word "P R O D U C T I O N S" in a bold font below, and the byline "A Unit Of Spelling Entertainment Inc." under it. The logo is still.

Technique: Cutting effects.

Audio: The end-title theme of Beverly Hills, 90210.

Availability: Seen on the first two seasons of Beverly Hills, 90210, and is left intact on all current prints of those seasons, including the DVD releases. After season 2, the Spelling Television logo was used, and the name "Torand Productions, Inc." was largely relegated to being the copyright holder of 90210 until the series' end in 2000.
