Village Films

Background

Village Films is the Greek arm of Village Roadshow that handles distribution of various Greek and Hollywood productions.

1st Logo (October 24, 2003-Unknown retirement year)

Visuals: On a black background, an intense orange light peeks out on the horizon. At the same time, the Village Roadshow logo in gray zooms out while light reflects on the logo before turning a metal grey. After the horizon is again in full view, the words "VILLAGE FILMS" fade and slightly zoom in underneath the V.

Technique: CGI by Gregory Glezakos and Stamos Birsim.

Audio: A brass and string piece before a 6-note violin stinger. This was composed by Adelphoi Music.

Availability: Seen on Greek productions and distributions handled by Village Roadshow, such as in a Greek DVD release of the Greek Village Roadshow production Πολίτικη Κουζίνα, known in English as A Touch of Spice.

2nd Logo (January 1, 2020)

Visuals: On a black background with rising dust particles and two blue lens flares peaking in from both sides of the screen, the "V" from before, with a cornflower blue metallic texture and an outer burst effect, zooms out and stops. This results in the screen shaking, the side lights brightening briefly, and for a blue light particle path to release from the logo from the bottom. The light particles spread out to the upper right while "VILLAGE" slides out of the "V", now in its normal state, to the right. The background sequence subtly repeats while the logo marginally zooms in.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A choral background track plays First before three dramatic and deep drum beats play, the last of which is accompanied with an echoing whisper.
