Background

This was the first arthouse label of 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios), and a predecessor to the later Fox Searchlight label (now Searchlight Pictures).

(1974-1983)

Logo: We see a spinning globe, a la Universal Pictures, with the various continents colored in orange. The globe is attached to a gold box with a grey tube reading "IC". The text "INTERNATIONAL CLASSICS" appears above, with I and C taller than the rest of the letters. At bottom is the text reading "COPYRIGHT © 1977 INTERNATIONAL CLASSICS, INC."

FX/SFX: The globe spinning, the stars sparkling.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Near extinction. Seen on old English-dubbed North American prints of Suspiria, among others. Not known to appear on the Magnum Entertainment releases, and definitely does not appear on the uncut letterboxed version.

Editor’s Note: This was basically a predecessor to Fox Searchlight Pictures, only without the Fox Tower-inspired logo.
