Background

Marvel Studios Special Presentations are a series of television specials produced by Marvel Studios for Disney+, set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the franchise's films and television series. The Marvel Studios Special Presentation banner was revealed alongside the announcement of the first television special, Werewolf by Night, in September 2022. The approximately hour-long specials are envisioned to provide a short look at new characters or concepts to the MCU. The Special Presentations are accompanied by a special fanfare and intro reminiscent of the CBS Special Presentation intro from the 1980s and '90s.

Logo (October 7, 2022-)

Visuals: Multicolored streaks of light fly across the screen. As the camera pans down, they then switch from left to right as the word "SPECIAL" (in a font similar to Haettenschweiler) zooms out, revealing the words "A MARVEL STUDIOS SPECIAL PRESENTATION" (with "Marvel Studios" in its original font while the rest of it is in ITC Avant Garde Gothic). After it's completed, the whole thing zooms out on a spectrum-like background.

Trivia: This logo references various special presentation bumpers for networks such as NBC, CBS, and ABC.

Variant: A 16:9 open matte version exists on The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

Technique: CGI by PERCEPTION.

Audio: A bongo-driven '70s styled fanfare, reminiscent of the CBS Special Presentation music, composed by Michael Giacchino. This was also the first track of the Werewolf by Night soundtrack (Giacchino himself also directed the special), entitled "A Marvel Studios Special Presentation".

Availability: Seen before "Marvel Studios Special Presentations", including Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which are both television specials made for Disney+.
