Background

Hachette Fox Productions is a joint venture between Hachette Première and 20th Century Fox (renamed 20th Century Studios in 2020) which distributed titles from Fox in France as well as local productions in that region.

1st Logo (July 13, 1983-February 15, 1985)

Visuals: On a black background, an outline of a filmstrip with blue, red, and smaller white strips appear from the bottom, forming a perspective design. In the center, the Hachette Première and 20th Century Fox print logos at the time wipe in and then comes closer to the screen. The film strip then leaves the bottom section but remains at the top, making room for "HACHETTE - FOX PRODUCTIONS" underneath.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A proud horn fanfare. Otherwise, none.

Availability: It was seen on The Public Woman, Right Bank, Left Bank, and Hell Train as well as French prints of Fox titles.

2nd Logo (August 29, 1984)

Visuals: On a blue gradient background, the print logos for the 20th Century Fox and Hachette logos are in red and with a white shadow effect. On top of them is the text:

FOX-HACHETTE DISTRIBUTION

As with the logos, the text has a white shadow.

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: None.

Availability: Only known to have appeared on Fanny Straw-Top, specifically through a 1995 Canal+ and a 2002 TF1 airing.
