Background

KIXE-TV is a PBS affiliate located in Chico-Redding, California.

1st ID (1983-Late 1990's)

Visuals: The screen fades in to a snow-capped mountain (likely that of Mt. Shasta) under a sunny sky, with small trees below. The orange text "A PRESENTATION OF KIXE REDDING/CHICO" slides up from below. If you look closely, you can also see a tiny gust of wind at the top of the peak.

Variants: In the 1990's (1994 if you want to be specific), the screen fades in to the mountain again, but this time, it is more cleaner, it is a still photo and was photograped further away. Then, the three texts "<span style="color:A PRESENTATION OF">A PRESENTATION OF","KIXE" AND "<span style="color:REDDING/CHICO">REDDING/CHICO" with only the "KIXE" text is in orange with the other two texts are in white, slide up one-by-one from below like the original version.

Technique: Chyron effects.

Audio: A thunderous, but partially audible "BOOM!", then a calm synthesizer jingle.

Availability: The World of Collector Cars may have this logo at the end of their episodes. It doesn't get rerun that often, though. Also seen at the beginning of Mark Kistler's Imagination Station. The 1990's version was found on Whose Body, Whose Rights?.

2nd ID (1990s-2000s)

Visuals: On a green background, there are the letters "KIXE" rotating out and the word "PRESENTATION" flipping in.

Variant: There's is a version with a waving American flag background starting in 2002.

Technique: Chyron effects.

Audio: A seven-note tune similar to the PBS Election 92 jingle.

Availability: Unknown. [Examples?]

3rd ID (20??-)

Visuals: Over a black background, the logo starts with 3 circles sliding up from a stone platform, emitting a bright light. The circle on the left is yellow, the middle is blue, and the right is green. The yellow and green ones slide up again and disappear off-screen, while the word "KIXE" slides up from the stone platform. The word "productions" slides to the right from the left side of the screen. The camera zooms in slightly afterwards.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A hip-hop beat.

Availability: It was seen on the KIXE Forum.
