Background

WUFT is the PBS network affiliate for Gainesville, Florida. It was launched in 1958.

1st Logo (1975-1983)

Visuals: On a black background, a purple dot shrinks and moves like a spotlight to create a trail of purple outlined WUFT's, with the one in the front outlined in white. Then presents, in white outline fades in.

Technique: Scanimate effects.

Audio: A 5 note synth tune, then a male announcer saying "From Gainesville, Florida.", Then another similar 8 note synth tune.

Variant: There is a variant where the dot grows before it shrinks.

Availability: Seen on "Conversation."

2nd Logo (1983-1997)

Visuals: The blue text WUFT zooms out, along with a reddish-orange "5", then a blue banner, reading "Where Learning Never Ends" in white, unfolds itself from the left.

Technique: Analog computer animation.

Audio: A C# synth note.

Availability: Unknown.
