1st Logo (1968)


Visuals: Crossfading from a co-production card crediting Lesta Leigh, the texts "WSBE-TV" and "36" are seen in a circle on a background of various texts on the sides.

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: The film's closing theme with a male announcer saying "Ring Around Rhode Island is a pre-recorded production of WSBE-TV.".

Availability: Only known to appear on Ring Around Rhode Island.

2nd Logo (1978-1985)


Visuals: There is an abstract text in lines saying "WSBE". After two seconds, it fades from the top left and down to the bottom right, revealing the text in red, green, and blue colored lines; along with the text "PROVIDENCE PRESENTS" in Antique Olive font.

Technique: Sliding effects.

Audio: A mellow, relaxing synth tune.

Availability: Can be seen on some programs such as Feeling Free and Wake of ‘38.

3rd Logo (1998)


Visuals: A set of abstract lines representing the letters in "WSBE" fade in. Then the lights turn on to reveal a large "WSBE" in silver in the center of the screen, the text "A Presentation of" above and "Providence RI" below. The text also shines.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A piano tune.

Availability: Seen only on Steamboats On the Hudson.

Rhode Island PBS

1st Logo (2005-2012)


Visuals: On a shining cyan background, footage of a seagull flying is seen, while the text "RhodeIslandPBS" with the PBS symbol next to it zooms out. The footage turns into an abstract blue seagull, placed above the text.

Variant: Sometimes, "Produced in Association with" or "A Production of" is seen at the top of the animation.

Technique: 2D animation and live-action.

Audio: A short acoustic guitar melody and background ocean/seagull sounds, with a "ding" when the seagull turns into the logo.

Availability: Seen on Ciao Italia.

2nd Logo (2012-)


Visuals: The same logo from before with the black text turned into white on a blue background.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on later episodes of Ciao Italia.
