Background

3000 Pictures was launched on July 15, 2019 by Elizabeth Gabler as a joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and HarperCollins in an overall production deal to source literary material and produce film content across all platforms. Gabler was previously the president of Fox 2000 Pictures, hence the name. The company is located on the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City, California.

Logo (July 15, 2022-)

Visuals: On a dark teal background, there is a thin golden-bronze line with lights shoot up from the screen, which eventually expands into more and more lines, almost taking up the screen. The lines form part of the "0" and then a "3", until the lines disappear and come to fully form the text "3000" with "PICTURES" in spaced-out letters below that. The lines disappear as the logo gains full color while lights shine on it. The Sony byline fades in below in the same color as it zooms away.

Variant:

  • There exist shortened and bylineless versions.
  • Sometimes the logo transitions from the 2021 Sony Entertainment logo.

Technique: CGI by Imaginary Forces.

Audio: Starts off with a brief two-note violin piece, which then turns into a rising somber synth theme held throughout as the logo forms. Composed by Walter Werzowa and John Luker at Musikvergnuegen.

Availability: Appeared on the trailer of Where the Crawdads Sing and on the film itself. The version with the Sony logo debuted on Lady Chatterley's Lover.
