Background

D. W. Griffith Corporation was a film production company owned by D. W. Griffith, active from 1913 until 1928.

1st Logo (1913-1918)


Visuals: On a black background, there is the drawing lines with the two copies of the word "Griffith" and the letters "DG" below and inside the rectangle. The film's title is inside the frame.

Variant: On The Birth of a Nation, there are the words "GRIFFITH FEATURE FILMS" inside the frame. After a few seconds, the logo fades out to the disclaimer.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.

Availability: It was seen on The Birth of a Nation (1915) and Intolerance.

2nd Logo (1918-1928)


Visuals: There is a 12th-century Britannia sculpture on the left surrounded by drawing lines. There is the title of the movie on the center with "Griffith" on the bottom right corner of the screen. Then there are the words at the bottom of the screen:
