1st Logo (1983-1989)
Logo: Only a superimposed in-credit disclaimer reading "NETWORK TEN AUSTRALIA" in a white font, with "NETWORK TEN" at the top, and "AUSTRALIA" at the bottom.
Variants:
- 1983-1988: The text is in the same italicized tube-like font as the network logo of the time.
- 1988-1989: The text is in a plain font and the Ten Logo, which is a stylised "X" (Roman numeral for 10), is above it.
FX/SFX: None; it's a still in-credit logo.
Music/Sounds: The ending theme.
Availability: Was seen on the short-lived Australian soap opera Richmond Hill and the longest running soap opera Neighbours when the latter moved to Network 10 in 1986.
2nd Logo (1989-1991)
Logo: On a black background, we see an orange rectangle with a "10" in the left half, and a map of Australia with some gold lines behind it on the right.
Variant:
- Sometimes the logo is superimposed over the credits.
- Sometimes "TV AUSTRALIA" in a wide serif font is located above the logo.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: The ending theme.
Availability: Seen on shows of the era.
3rd Logo (1991-1999)
Logo: On a black background, a blue circle with "ten" in a yellow futuristic font (named "Microgramma D OT") and a faded border appears from the right of the screen before rotating and panning out to the center, stopping there. "Network Ten" and "Australia", both in yellow, fade in below.
Variants:
- Some shows feature white copyright text replacing the usual text.
- An in-credit version appeared on some programs.
- An early variant has "The Entertainment Network" beneath, in the same font as the logo.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: The ending theme or beginning in 1996, a drumbeat and a 3-note keyboard theme.
Availability: Seen on Network Ten shows during this period.
4th Logo (1995-1999)
Note: The logo can be seen here.
Logo: On a black background, we see the Network Ten logo (with a silver "ten" this time) turning upwards with three silver rings rotating around it (like the atomic symbol), before merging into one and forming the logo's border.
FX/SFX: The turning and the rings.
Music/Sounds: The ending theme.
Availability: This logo was used specifically on Cheez TV in it's early years.
5th Logo (1999-2000)
Logo: On a black background, we see the Network Ten logo rotating. "NETWORK TEN AUSTRALIA" zooms in below the logo and the URL fades in below it.
FX/SFX: The rotating.
Music/Sounds: The end theme.
Availability: Seen on Network Ten shows from the period.
6th Logo (2000-2001)
Logo: On a water background, we see several blue streaks dashing around to form the top right quarter of the Network Ten logo (with the rest being off-screen), while the URL "www.ten.com.au" flashes in a couple of times before disappearing and wiping in from the right.
Trivia: This was also used as a station ID throughout the time period. It was designed by Attik.
Variants:
- There is a secondary version where the bottom right quarter of the logo is shown instead.
- There is another version that is the same as the standard one, except the background is aqua with bubbles constantly moving through it, and the logo is formed by a trail of sparks.
- More variations of this logo exist, mainly being used only as station IDs.
FX/SFX: The streaks as well as the logo and URL fading in.
Music/Sounds: A bubbling sound, a whoosh and twinkle the streaks make, followed by a 2-note keyboard and finishes with a synthesized female voice echoing "Ten".
Music/Sounds Variant: In the secondary version, it uses a shrill high pitched synthesizer, bubble sounds that are much louder than the original, and a quiet whoosh when the logo appears
Availability: Seen on shows during this era.
7th Logo (2001-2002)
Logo: On an out-of-focus blue background, many streaks dart around to form the Network Ten logo on the left of screen. The URL www.ten.com.au fades in to the right of the logo.
FX/SFX: The logo fading, the streaks moving around and the out of focus background.
Music/Sounds: A calm techno ditty with a female voice whispering "Ten".
Availability: Seen on Network Ten shows produced in this period.
Legacy: The jingle introduced in this logo would go on to be used for 16 years, becoming a hallmark of the network in the process.
8th Logo (2002-2005)
Logo: On a darkly-lit blue background with the spotlight slightly moving around, we see the Ten Network logo. The URL "www.ten.com.au" wipes in below.
Variant: One later variant had several light blue squares blinking in and causing the URL to appear below, and the URL was in a different font.
FX/SFX: The spotlight and the URL wiping in.
Music/Sounds: Same as the previous logo.
Availability: Seen on Network Ten produced shows of the time, such as Neighbours.
9th Logo (2005-2008)
Logo: On a black background, a small blue circle grows at the top of the screen, followed by a yellow one, and the Network Ten logo, with the remnants of the circle forming the outline. The company's URL wipes itself in below.
Variants: On Kenny's World, the show's logo zooms in and turns into the Network Ten logo.
FX/SFX: The circle and URL being formed.
Music/Sounds: Same as the 7th logo.
Availability: Uncommon. It was last seen on a lot of Network Ten-produced shows such as Friday Night Days, Big Brother Australia and older episodes of Neighbours.
10th Logo (2008-2018)
Note: The first variant of the logo can be seen here.
Logo: Just the then-current Network Ten logo with the URL below.
Later Variants:
- After 2013, the Ten logo is updated. It's now a lighter, shinier blue and the outline is in silver, while the text is white. In this version, the logo fades in from a flash, then the URL, which is shortened to "ten.com.au" fades in.
- Around 2015, the URL was updated to "tenplay.com.au" to reflect Ten's new website.
FX/SFX:
- 2008-2013: Only the shining of the logo.
- 2013-2018: The logo fading in, the flash, and the URL fading in below.
Music/Sounds: Same as the previous 3 logos.
Availability: Common. It appears on shows produced by Fremantle Media Australia (like Biggest Loser Australia, MasterChef Australia and 2008-2010 episodes of Neighbours) as well as Talkin' 'bout Your Generation (produced by Granada Australia). It can be also seen on certain children's shows such as Pearlie, Animalia and K9, as well as at the end of Toasted TV. The newer variant with the "tenplay.com.au" URL can be seen on 2015-2018 productions such as Have You Been Paying Attention?. The 2008-2013 variant of the logo is retained on Stan prints of Hamish & Andy's American Caravan of Courage, Hamish & Andy's Caravan of Courage: Great Britain & Ireland, Learn India with Hamish & Andy and Hamish & Andy's Reministmas Special, although it is cut out from the versions on the Hamish & Andy TV YouTube channel (only available outside of Australia).
11th Logo (2018-)
Logo: On a blue background, the new "10" wordmark rotates in, a blue circle appears behind it, and red and yellow streaks move around the logo from the right in a clockwise direction.
Variant: There's a still version that is next to the Paramount+ logo.
FX/SFX: Modern CGI.
Music/Sounds: An upbeat, whistled ditty.
Availability: Current, seen on all shows produced by the network from 2018 onwards.
