Background

Retaguardia Films was a film production company that was founded somewhere in the early 2000s, and was only known for one movie.

Logo (June 13, 2003)

Visuals: The logo starts off with a shot of the bottom portion of the black letter "R", which rapidly flashes in numerous fonts on a flashing multi-colored background. The letter zooms out, revealing the letter on a filmstrip with two black circle outlines outside of the letter with lines on each side of the circle. As the letter still flashes numerous fonts, the camera zooms closer to the center of the filmstrip. The filmstrip flips itself horizontally, and a second later, the number "4" is seen for a split second before switching back to the aforementioned letter. Then the number "3" is shown for a split second before switching again back to the letter. Again, another number "2" is shown for a split second before the number does the same action as the previous numbers. As the action is going on, the screen becomes brighter and the letter zooms in even closer. Once everything turns into a tan color, a smaller version of the background for the letter, containing the lines and shapes from before, loosely shakes. Along with the rectangular on-print logo, the text "RETAGUARDIA films" appears below the square and does the same action. Finally, the background reveals to consist of a golden color with flashing and the logo ends in a filmstrip cut.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Filmstrip noises, as well as beeping noises when the numbers show up, getting higher pitched as each makes the sound, film reel noises when the logo looses its brightening, and a click sound when the logo ends.

Availability: The logo was only seen in Los Debutantes.
