Shera Films

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

1st Logo (March 2, 1990-October 30, 1992?)

Visuals: On a blue background, there is a lion (resembling MGM's Leo) in a green circle with stars in an arch. On top of the circle, there is an emblem with the letter "S" placed at the emblem. At the bottom, there's a stacked text saying "SHERA FILM'S CORPORATION".

Variant: For Rambo, the logo is shown zooming out, cutting out to the opening scene before it ends zooming.

Technique: A still, possibly hand-painted image. The variant has camera-controlled animation.

Audio: A dramatic fanfare.

Availability: The logo can only be seen in two films, Palay Khan and Rambo (not to be confused with the film series of the same name). It could have been also seen on Hero.

2nd Logo (1994)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a tiger fading in and sliding to the left. Afterwards, the letter "S" slides to the right and rotates itself. Once completed, the word "hera" appears letter-by-letter. The word "Films" spins, and the text slides upwards as the word "Presents" quickly slides to the right at the bottom.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A loud roar of an animal, and some other sounds which are heavily distorted.

Availability: The logo was seen in Halaku.

3rd Logo (September 9, 1994-April 12, 1996)

Visuals: The logo starts with footage of a tiger jumping over a water field in a rural area. Then the logo shows another cut of the same animal doing so, but not on the water reflection. The footage freezes, and the words "SHERA FILMS" and "PRESENTS" slides from the right. The logo is finalized with the text sliding out.

Technique: Live action and camera-controlled animation.

Audio: A loud roar from the animal (similar to the one used on the 2nd Noumi Pictures logo), then followed by an ascending string theme which cuts abruptly.

Availability: The logo was shown in Beta, Munda Bigra Jaye, and Mamla Garbar Hay.

4th Logo (1997-April 8, 1998)

Visuals: On a black background, there is an image of a lion zooming in until the screen is covered completely by the face of the animal. The lion opens his mouth as a loud roar plays. The set of text "SHERA FILMS" and "PRESENTS" shoots out from the lion's mouth. Afterwards, the lion's eyes go from brown to reddish orange to white.

Variants:

  • The logo is cut short beginning at the end of the roar and the text appearing on some film prints.
  • On modern reissues (reserved only on early VCDs) of Baharo Phool Barsao, the logo is darker and yellow-red tinted.

Technique: Camera-controlled animation.

Audio: A trumpet fanfare, followed by the lion roaring (at a loud volume) from the previous logo, ending with an arpeggiating synth theme.

Availability:

  • The full version of the logo was seen in a modern reissue (omitted on later VCDs) of Baharo Phool Barsao (1972).
  • The cut version of the logo has been spotted in Nakhra Gori Da (1998).

5th Logo (January 14, 2011)

Visuals: The sequence starts with footage of a close-up of a lion roaring in a weed background. After three seconds, the footage freezes, and the lion's head zooms out with the background changing to black. The red Urdu text "SHERA FILMS PRESENTS" appears as the text spins around and forms itself.

Technique: Live action and CGI.

Audio: A loud roar from the lion followed by a deep, drum-like synth fanfare with drums at the end.

Availability: Only seen in Aakhiri Golai.

6th Logo (February 10, 2012)

Visuals: On a maroon background, there is a still image of a roaring lion in a large yellow circle. Around the circle are smaller circles, each with looping footage of a lion. The green text "Shera Film's" can be seen zooming out along with the text "PRESENTS" below said text.

Technique: Live action.

Audio: An echoed roar at the beginning, followed by a six-note orchestral fanfare.

Availability: Only seen in Gunah Ka Anjaam, the 2012 reissue of the 2008 film Anjaam.

7th Logo (October 27, 2012)

Visuals: Starting off the logo is a light flash that dims down to show three spotlights in the shape of a triangle. As such, two "hook"-like shapes, one red and the other grey, zoom out. The text "SHERA FILMS", facing upward, zooms out and turns to face the camera, followed by the smaller text "Presents", also facing upward, doing the same movement. The "hook" shapes turn to reveal an "S" shape, resulting in the logo fading out.

Variants: There exists both digital and filmed versions of the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.

Availability:

  • The original version was seen only in the 2012 version of Sher Dil.
  • The digital version was found in the trailer for said movie.
