Background

Lucky Red Distribuzione is a film production company in Italy. They also serve as as a distribution company for various foreign language films that are released through theaters or via DVD/home video in Italy.

1st Logo (1990-2000)

Visuals: On a black background, a stylized box zooms in. It is made up of four brushstrokes, two red (one light and one dark) and two yellow (ditto). A white line is drawn to the left and "LUCKY", in a western font, flies out on top of it, followed by another line and "RED" appearing in the same manner, albeit colored red. "DISTRIBUZIONE" fades in underneath in a sans serif font.

Technique: Either motion-control or 2D computer animation.

Audio: An arpeggiating synth-piano theme.

Availability: Seen on some Italian film releases of the time, such as La Capa Gira.

2nd Logo (2000-)

Visuals: Over a black background, there is the red/yellow box from the last logo drawing in line-by-line. Afterwards, the text "LUCKY RED", in its usual position but now in a sans serif font, fades in. "DISTRIBUZIONE" is then typed in underneath the logo.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the text at the bottom reads "PRODUZIONE".
  • Earlier on, the logo just fades in, with "DISTRIBUZIONE" being animated normally.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A repeating 3-note piano/string theme, ending with a cello hit. None for the early variant.

Availability: Seen on film releases in Italy. This is also used as a de-facto home entertainment logo on their DVD and later VHS releases.
