Background
Cloverway, Inc (abbreviated as CWI, sometimes just Cloverway) was the international branch of Toei Animation, located in Long Beach, California. They specialized in releasing Toei properties throughout the world, and would often act as the middle man for handling distribution between Japan and North America. Whilst they primarily did distribution, they are perhaps better known for producing the original English dubs of Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon SuperS after DiC Entertainment ended their dub after the second season.
1st Logo (19??-2000)
Visuals: The screen shows a white background, with the foreground showing off a orange frame that surrounds the CWi logo. The bottom of CWi states, "Representing the Best in Japanese Animation".
Technique: None. [possible misuse]
Audio: None.
Availability: This logo was not known by many, making this the hardest to find CWi logos in existence. Some Toonami broadcasts of Sailor Moon S might contain this logo. This logo has appeared on some Sailor Moon VHS Tapes, with the Pure Hearts English Edited VHS being one of them containing it. It's unknown if any other Sailor Moon VHS Tapes include this logo. As for any other media during that time beforehand when some international dubs were dubbed by Cloverway, it's unknown.
2nd Logo (2000-2005)
Visuals: The screen starts white and fades into a starry space background. A filmstrip spins around, and, with a flash of light, the Cloverway logo (written as CWi., stylized with a giant c and a four-leafed clover dotting the i) appears, spinning around a few times before stopping. The logo gleams, having a white aura around it as another pair of flashes appear at the bottom of the screen, bringing in the words "REPRESENTING THE BEST IN JAPANESE ANIMATION". The filmstrip in the background keeps animating and moving slightly until the logo eventually fades out.
Technique: The filmstrip moving, the fading. [possible misuse]
Audio: Just a male voice saying "Cloverway, representing the best in Japanese animation!". Sometimes the voice comes in late.
Availability: It was seen on Sailor Moon S and SuperS on Toonami, but releases of their dub on home media fetch very high prices (due to being distributed by two defunct companies, Pioneer and ADV, and being replaced with the better-received Viz Media dub).
