Background

Red Company is a Japanese video game and anime company founded in 1976 by Oji Hiroi. The company is known for being involved in the production, design and licensing of several anime and video game properties. In 2000, the company was folded into Red Entertainment.

Logo (December 17, 1998-March 22, 2001)

Visuals: On a grid-like background with flashing colors, several words such as "ENTERTAINMENT", "ROYAL", "HAPPY", "DREAM" and "DRAGON" appear alongside some Japanese lettering. Then, the word "HAPPY" briefly appears again, until the company's name is written in red text and the "RED" wordmark starts to appear. The background later changes to white while a dragon with sunglasses later appears alongside the wordmark as it forms completely. A child later says the company's name and later giggles.

Trivia: The word RED in Red Company's logo stands for Royal Emperor Dragon. The word "RED" was chosen because it was Oji Hiroi's favorite color.

Technique: A mix of digital 2D and CGI animation.

Audio: A synth digital theme, along with the child's voice.

Availability: Seen on video games that were produced and licensed by the company, beginning with Thousand Arms. This was also seen on Sakura Wars games for the Dreamcast beginning with Ogami Ichirou Funtouki and ending with Sakura Wars 3, where the logo last appeared.
