Background

Limited Run Games is an American video game distributor founded in October 2015 in Cary, North Carolina by Josh Fairhurst and Douglas Bogart to preserve the digital releases of various games, notably those from Fairhurst's Mighty Rabbit Studios. Over the years, the company has ported and digitally released hundreds of developers' video games for the Nintendo Switch, the PlayStation 3, 4, and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and even retro consoles such as the NES. Two years later, the company relocated to Apex. In August 2022, Embracer Group acquired the company from Fairhurst and Bogart. The latter left the company several months later.

Logo (Late 2010's?-)

Visuals: On a black background, the roughly drawn and tilted, stacked font "LiMiTED RUN" appears through a wiping effect from the top left to bottom right. During this formation, the logo changes colors from cyan to magenta and hot pink and also has a burst effect that merges back into the text. When the burst is gone, the text at this point is red and flashes where a peach-tan horizontal gradient with segmented lines set in the latter color are briefly seen during the flashing. The glow on the logo dies down and the text becomes hot pink. Shortly afterwards, a VHS glitch effect is applied to the screen with a quick static background bringing the logo sequence to an end.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A retro, 80's synthwave jingle that starts with a few descending chime-like notes followed by a set of lower-pitched, synthesized notes, the last of which is held. VHS static, followed by the tape ejecting from the player, is heard at the end.

Availability: The logo appears at the start of many games they have specifically distributed over the years. One such known release is Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore. This game, alongside all other distributed titles with this logo, are only obtainable through their website with pre-orders active temporarily. The logo has also appeared on Carboncast.
