Background
Bardel Entertainment is a Canadian animation studio company founded in 1987 in Vancouver, British Columbia. However, they had no corporate logo until 2002.
1st Logo (December 9, 2002-October 30, 2008)
Visuals: On a black background, there is the side of a square with green text below it. The logo flips over to reveal "Bardel" in a cartoony font composed of a green colored "B" with lines through it and a leg, a black serif "a" in a red square, a stylish "R" with polka dots inside, a "D" with a green circle that would be the hole, an "e" in flipped over handwriting, and a stick with aqua and orange stripes. The text square has a purple outline. The green text reveals to be "entertainment inc." in a crude font.
Variants:
- Sometimes, the logo is squished.
- On the Dragons films, the logo is zooming out.
Technique: Computer animation.
Audio: A simple cartoon tune composed by Michael Richard Plowman and Hal Foxton Beckett (the composers for Edgar & Ellen), consisting of two notes, a trumpet-like sound, then the two notes again, followed by the sound, then the two notes once again, ending with the sound. The pitch gets higher every time.
Audio Variants:
- Sometimes, it's the ending theme of the show or silence.
- On the Dragons films, a whoosh sound is heard.
Availability: Appeared on Silverwing, Dragons: Fire & Ice and its sequel, early episodes of Viva Piñata, season 1 episodes of Chaotic and Edgar & Ellen. Also appears on The Christmas Orange after the Teletoon logo.
2nd Logo (December 26, 2008-December 1, 2019)
Visuals: On a black background, there is a remodeled version of the cartoony text from the last logo, with a remade serif "a" and the "B" has no leg. The circle inside the "D" is not present. The green circle bounces off the top of the screen hitting the stick, followed by the "e", and then landing inside the "D" with a coin effect. Also, the text "entertainment inc." is in all capital letters with a different font.
Variants:
- The logo appears on a black-white gradient concrete background on shows such as Mother Up!.
- There is a still version.
- A white background version exists.
- On Angry Birds Blues, the logo is with the Rovio Animation logo.
Technique: Computer animation.
Audio: Same as the last logo or the ending theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on their shows such as Zeke's Pad, Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty, Angry Birds Blues, Mother Up! and Mack and Moxy. This logo did not appear on the following films: Wubbzy's Big Movie!, The Prophet, Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2021), The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (2022).
