Background

This was a second-party developer of sports genre for Sony Interactive Entertainment, founded in 1998 by Craig Broadbooks and closed in 2003. The company was based in Carlsbad, California.

1st Logo (September 15, 1999-November 6, 2002)

Visuals: There is a stylized picture of the sun and the name "SolWorks" under it, made in a shiny golden color. The words "DESIGNED AND DEVELOPED BY" in a Bank Gothic font is seen above while the website URL in the same font is seen below.

Variants:

  • On NHL FaceOff 2000, the background is black. Also, the text is set in a Helvetica font.
  • On NHL FaceOff 2001, the background is a blue-white abstract gradient background.
  • On NHL FaceOff 2003, there is a blue haze behind the logo on a white background. Also, the text is colored grey and set in a Helvetica Italic font.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appeared on NHL FaceOff series for PlayStation, from 2000 to 2003.

2nd Logo (October 21, 2003)

Visuals: There is a sand shore with several shells. A sea wave comes and reveals the gold logo in the sand, then rolls back.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Wave crashing and seagull sounds.

Availability: It was seen on Backyard Basketball for PlayStation 2.
