Background

Carbunkle Cartoons is a Canadian animation studio founded by animators Bob Jaques and Kelly Armstrong. During the 1990s, they performed animation services for the first two seasons of The Ren & Stimpy Show, plus the first season of The Baby Huey Show, among other projects. Lately, Jaques left the studio and is now a studio director at Mercury Filmworks.

1st Logo (August 10, 1990)

Visuals: On a blue-green background (with small black and blue spots painted across the bottom), there's the yellow text "Get your shrink-takes from" written across the top in a sketchy font, followed by the words "CARBUNKLE CARTOONS" below in a black cartoonish font. At the right of the words, there's a yellow-outlined drawing of a fat naked man with angel wings and glasses facing leftward and holding up a pencil spraying yellow pixie dust around "CARBUNKLE CARTOONS".

Technique: A still, hand-drawn graphic.

Audio: Just the sound of ducks quacking.

Availability: Seen only on the uncut version of the Ren & Stimpy pilot "Big House Blues".

2nd Logo (September 18-December 11, 1994)

Visuals: On a light blue background with a yellow boomerang design on it, there's the caption "Produced by" in a dark-blue futuristic font and, below it, the red text "CARBUNKLE CARTOONS INC." in a wacky font (with "CARBUNKLE" in the same font as the previous logo). Within the boomerang design, there's the fat naked angel from the last logo, only now he's facing the right and is colored in.

Technique: A still, hand-drawn graphic.

Audio: The sound of a duck quacking, different from the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on the first season of The Baby Huey Show.
