Software Sculptors

Background

Software Sculptors was originally an independent anime company founded in New York City in 1993 by John Sirabella, Sam Liebowitz, and Henry Lai. They originally specialized in anime-related software, such as screensavers and other computer products. When it was bought by Central Park Media in 1995, it started releasing anime titles on video, such as The Slayers, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Cat Soup. Sirabella and Liebowitz both left CPM in 1996 and went on to form Media Blasters the following year.

Logo (1995?-2000s)

Visuals: On a purple/indigo background, there are two sides of a cube rolling towards each other, forming the logo with a S on top of the cube. While this happens, the text "S O F T W A R E S C U L P T O R S" flies in under the cube. The text "www.software-sculptors.com" fades in under the logo name after the logo forms.

Variant: On some releases, the URL does not appear.

Availability: The best place to find this is on VHS/DVD releases of Slayers (released in America as The Slayers) and Revolutionary Girl Utena.
