Background

France Animation was a French animation company formed in 1984. In 1996, it was purchased by and became a subsidiary of France Telecom (now Orange S.A.). In 2003, the company was purchased by Antefilms Production, eventually merging to form MoonScoop Group.

1st Logo (March 16-July 2, 1994)

Visuals: Superimposed in the credits of the show is a tilted filmstrip with "France Animation" inside and placed on a white TV-screen. The upper and lower zones of the white shape are colored respectively, blue and red.

Technique: A digital graphic.

Audio: The ending theme to the show.

Availability: It only appeared on Albert the Fifth Musketeer.

2nd Logo (September 9, 1995-2000, 2005)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a series of shapes in the form of a face. It consists of an upside down yellow triangle for the right eye, a blue rectangle for the left eye, a red circle for the nose, and a curved line with two arrows on each side for the mouth. Beneath, there is "FRANCE ANIMATION" in black. The entire logo then fades out via an "iris" effect.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo would be in-credit.
  • On some programs, the entire logo would be inside a box placed on a black background.
  • On Ivanhoe: The King's Knight, the logo is seen right next to CINAR's own logo, both on a white box.

Technique: A digital graphic with an iris effect.

Audio: An airy dramatic synth theme, with wind blowing. In later years, it was silent.

Availability:

  • It was seen on Li'l Elvis and the Truckstoppers, Vampires, Pirates and Aliens, Night Hood, Gadget Boy & Heather, Ivanhoe: The King's Knight, The Country Mouse and the City Mouse Adventures, and the Canadian French dub of seasons 2-4 of The Busy World of Richard Scarry (including early re-releases of season 1). The still version is seen on Titeuf: Mission Nadia for the Nintendo DS.
    • This logo did not appear on some projects nor after the Moonscoop merger, such as Urmel, Ava Riko Teo, Dr. Dog and Patrol 03.
