Background

Wild Bunch International was the international distribution company of Wild Bunch, founded in July 2019. Nearly four years later in March 2023, when the pact to use the Wild Bunch name expired, the company rebranded to Goodfellas.

Logo (February 1, 2020-2023)

Visuals: On a black background, a counterclockwise rotating outline of a smartphone is traced by a white line alongside a white spark drawing in the Wild Bunch "wb" logo inside of the phone while horizontally aligned. Before the full outline of the logo is drawn, a thick, vertical black bar wipes across the phone from right to left. After completing the outline, the "wb" logo smashes through the smartphone and the light spark gains a warm colored gradient to shine the back portions of the smartphone pieces and fill the logo in said gradient through an iris effect. As the logo changes color palettes to blue, the spark wipes in the wild bunch typeface on top of "INTERNATIONAL", replacing the large "wb" copy and maintaining the rainbow color changing effect of said symbol. For the remainder of the logo sequence, the logo slowly zooms in and stops.

Variants:

  • There is a shortened variant that only shows the logo slowly zooming in.
  • Another variant features a white, print version of the logo.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The electric sparking sound effect heard in the Wild Bunch logo is heard, which rises in volume before coming to an abrupt halt as the spark disappears. Otherwise, the logo is silent.

Availability: The logo appears on international prints of films distributed by Wild Bunch in the European market. The animated version appears on My Son, Saint Omer, US prints of Titane, among other movies. The still white version appears on Mandibles, Les 2 Afraid, and Hatching.
