Background

In 1999, when Konami decided to join forces with Disney Interactive and ESPN, Konami rechristened the American sports label as ESPN the Games. The brand shut down in 2002 when Konami's license with ESPN expired, and all future sports games would be published under the normal Konami name.

Logo (October 3, 2000-May 3, 2002)

Visuals: On a white background is the ESPN logo arranged to the left, and below the logo and arranged to the right is "the games". Copyright information appears at the bottom of the screen.

Variants:

  • On ESPN NBA 2Night for the Dreamcast, the logo is on the right side, with a basketball shown on the top left on the basketball field.
  • Sometimes, the copyright information is absent.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: None.

Audio Variant: On ESPN NBA 2Night for Dreamcast, an excerpt of the SportsCenter theme is heard.

Availability: Seen on Konami's ESPN-themed sports games for multiple platforms, such as ESPN NBA 2Night, ESPN International Track & Field, ESPN National Hockey Night, ESPN NFL PrimeTime 2002 and ESPN X Games Skateboarding.
