Background

Buena Vista Interactive (not to be confused with "Buena Vista Games") was a rarely-used brand under the auspices of Disney. First appearing in 1988, it was rarely used in the 1990s. The BVI name continued to be used into the 2000s, in the shadow of Disney's main game label, Buena Vista Games. In 2005, the usage of the BVI name was discontinued after the formation of Disney Interactive Studios. In 2007, Disney decided to abandon the Buena Vista branding in favor of a new name, and the remains of BVI were folded into Disney Interactive Studios.
