Background

Prior to the formation of 20th Century Games, 20th Century Fox partnered with publishers to create games based on their properties, something which continues to this day. In 2021, 20th Century Studios under The Walt Disney Company formed 20th Century Games.

Twentieth Century Fox Games

1st Logo (June 14, 2002-November 23, 2012)

Visuals: Just the 20th Century Fox logo from 1994 to 2010 by Studio Productions (now Flip Your Lid Animation), without an interactive mark whatsoever, except the registered trademark symbol is replaced with a trademark symbol.

Variants:

  • When it debuted on Minority Report: Everybody Runs, and on some games like Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and for the later years, the logo is still.
    • Minority Report: Everybody Runs used an early still version where the background has a purple sky, and the structure and byline are brighter. The logo is also positioned upward a bit, having less of the sky background and revealing more of the bottom of the structure.
  • On some Nintendo DS titles, the logo is superimposed over the game's intro.
  • On the Nintendo DS version of Eragon, the logo flips in on a rectangular prism.
  • On several Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS titles, the console versions of Fantastic Four, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked and Ice Age: Continental Drift, and Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure, the print version is used.
    • Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure has the logo at the left. To the right is the 2013-22 Blue Sky Studios logo.
  • On X-Men: The Official Game for Game Boy Advance, the print logo is grey.
  • On X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the logo is in black and white with the letters in blue when it forms and takes place in the future.
  • On the PSP releases of Eragon and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, the logo is brighter than usual, and the trademark symbol is different.
  • On 24: The Video Game and Family Guy: The Video Game, it shows the 1998 version of the 20th Century Fox Television logo instead.
    • On The Simpsons Game, The Simpsons Arcade Game (2012), Prison Break: The Conspiracy and Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse, it features the 2007 version of the 20th Century Fox Television logo instead.
      • Prison Break: The Conspiracy and The Simpsons Arcade Game (2012) features the still version of the 2007 20th Century Fox Television logo instead. The former has the fade in and out.
  • On the video game adaptation of The Shield, it shows the still version of the Fox Television Studios logo instead.

Technique: CGI animation or a still image.

Audio: It depends on the version:

  • Full version: The 1997 20th Century Fox fanfare by David Newman.
  • Still and print versions: None or the opening theme of the game.
  • TCFTV version: The 1997 and 2005 TCFTV themes.

Audio Variant: Sometimes, on the full version, the fanfare is off-sync.

Availability:

  • Can be seen on various 2006-12 20th Century Fox games.
  • Some of the last games to use this logo were James Cameron's Avatar: The Game and the Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and Ice Age: Continental Drift video games.
  • Before this company was made, this can also be seen on both Minority Report: Everybody Runs and the 2005 video game Fantastic Four, as well as on the box covers of both Robots (the game itself has the final Fox Interactive logo) and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown (although oddly. The Game Boy Advance version has the final Fox Interactive logo while the other versions don't have a Fox logo).
  • It makes surprise appearances on five games, Prison Break: The Conspiracy, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, The Simpsons Arcade Game (2012), Ice Age: Continental Drift and Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse.
  • It also appeared on Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure, released after the company's closure.

2nd Logo (February 11, 2010-December 31, 2017)

Visuals: Same as the 2009 prototype 20th Century Fox logo, but it's cut short, with brighter colors, and zoomed out.

Variants:

  • A still version appears on Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS games.
  • On some games, the entire finalized 2009 TCF logo plays.

Technique: CGI animation. Just like the movie logo, this was designed by Blue Sky Studios.

Audio: None.

Audio Variants:

  • On some games with the finalized 2009 logo, the 1997 Fox theme is used.
  • On some games with the still logo, the opening theme.
  • Rarely, the 2005 TCFTV theme is used.
  • Sometimes, it's silent.

Availability:

  • Appears on later 20th Century Fox games, such as the next-generation version of Aliens vs. Predator for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, Rio for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS, Aliens: Colonial Marines for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, and Snoopy's Grand Adventure for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Xbox 360.
  • First seen on the Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief video game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii and Nintendo DS.
  • This logo does not appear on the games based on DreamWorks Animation films that Fox distributed, nor does the print logo appear on their box covers.

20th Century Games

Visuals: Same as the print 20th Century Studios logo, but the word "GAMES" (in Futura Bold) replaces "STUDIOS".

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The opening theme of the trailer or none.

Availability: First seen on the trailer for Warped Kart Racers, and made its debut on the game itself.
