Background
In 1996, following the rebranding of MCA as Universal Studios by Seagram & Sons, Universal renamed the MCA Television Entertainment (MTE) division as Universal Television Entertainment.
On October 20, 1997, Universal sold off USA Network, Sci-Fi Channel, and Universal Television to HSN Inc. (a company owned by Barry Diller) for $4.075 billion, and renamed it to Studios USA Television LLC. Therefore, UTE was renamed to Studios USA Pictures.
Note: Like Universal Television Enterprises, media released by Universal Television Entertainment from March to October 1997 use a short version of the 1990 Universal Pictures logo without any indicator.
