Background

Miramax Television is the television division of Miramax Films. It did not use a proper on-screen logo until 1999; before 1999 it used generic in-credit text reading "MIRAMAX TELEVISION".

1st Logo (1999-August 25, 2011)

Nicknames: "The Buildings", "Manhattan Skyline", "Miramax Skyline on TV"

Logo: Basically the same as the 1999 movie logo, except that "TELEVISION" replaces "FILMS". It's also videotaped and sped-up.

Variants:

  • In 2004 on FX, on a promotion show for the movie Hero, it just had a simple zoom in of the logo.
  • 2005-2011: On Seasons 2 through 9 of Project Runway, this logo is still and seen under The Weinstein Company Television logo.

Technique: Same as the 1999 movie logo or none.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show or none.

Availability: Appeared on Project Runway and earlier episodes of Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee. The Hero variation is extinct. It appeared on the trailer for A Wrinkle in Time (found on the Spy Kids 2001 VHS/DVD), but by the time it debuted, the Dimension Television logo appeared instead. It's also seen on the English dub of Tokyo Pig. It first appeared on the featurette Making Life Beautiful, which can be seen on the 1999 VHS of Life is Beautiful.

2nd Logo (March 11, 2014-November 1, 2016)

Nicknames: "The Buildings II", "The City II", "Manhattan Skyline on TV II", "Miramax Skyline on TV II"

Logo: Same as the 2008 Miramax logo, however the logo starts when we're about to face the buildings and the word "MIRAMAX" fades in. The words "DISTRIBUTED BY" are shown above the logo.

Variant: Sometimes, the closing logo for Miramax's movie counterpart is used, as in the case of Crow's Blood, which debuted on July 23, 2016 in Japan.

Technique: The camera zooming in.

Music/Sounds: A short version of the 2008 Miramax jingle. Otherwise, it's the closing theme of the show, or silence.

Availability: Seen on From Dusk till Dawn: The Series and Crow's Blood.

3rd Logo (December 3, 2020-)

Nicknames: "The City III", "Aurora Miramaximus on TV"

Logo: It's the short version of the 2018 movie logo, with no television indicator whatsoever starting with the camera zooming out of the letters in "MIRAMAX" slowly coming together to form the logo, illuminating a city (possibly a bird's-eye view of New York) below. Then the beIN Media Group/ViacomCBS byline fades in.

Trivia: Like its movie counterpart, the logo was animated by MOCEAN.

Technique: Same as the 2018 Miramax Films logo.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: First appeared on the miniseries Spy City (which debuted on December 3, 2020 in Germany).
