Background
This was a banner used by Family Home Entertainment from the mid-90s onward for full-length family movies on video.
1st Logo (Mid-1990s)
Logo: On a grey marble background, the words "Family Home Entertainment Theatre", in gold script, fade in. Then the logo shines left to right and fades out.
FX/SFX: The logo shining.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Rare. It appears on various kids and family movies released by FHE. Sometimes followed by the "Paintbrush" logo.
2nd Logo (Mid-Late 1990s)
Logo: On a stone background with a bevel square outline, we see a golden box wrapped in a fancy blue ribbon zoom out into the middle. The ribbon reads "FAMILY HOME ENTERTAINMENT" in white, and at the bottom of the gold box is "THEATRE" in spaced-out letters.
Trivia: This logo is stylized after the print logo used on video releases in Family Home Entertainment's "Christmas Classics Series", which used a red ribbon and black text on the box, but nevertheless carried the same design format.
FX/SFX: The logo zooming out.
Music/Sounds: A calm synth theme with sparkles and horns.
Availability: Extremely rare. Seen only on a handful of releases including The Girl from Mars. Note that some releases that have this logo on the packaging may not have it on the tape itself (like the 1999 VHS of Drop Dead Fred, which used the standard 1999 FHE logo instead).
Editor's Note:
